2019 CLASSES & SCHEDULE
Vocal Technique

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take Vocal Technique classes. These classes are held twice a week, one class for beginners and another for advanced students. These classes are taught by Danny Vasquez.
This class teaches students how to find their range, know what key they sing in, expand their vocal range, learn warm up exercises, breathing exercises, etc.
Private lessons are also available.

Vocal Performance 

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take Vocal Performance classes. These classes are held twice a week, one class for beginners and another for advanced students. These classes are taught by Liz Davila and Rebecca Valadez.
This class teaches students how to express themselves on stage, from using a microphone to working with them on choreography. The goal of this class is to build confidence in our students, so they feel comfortable performing in front of others.

Private lessons are also available.

Guitar

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take  Guitar classes. These classes are held three times a week, two classes for beginners and another for intermediate students. These classes are taught by Armando Martinez.

Percussion (Drums)

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take Percussion (Drums) classes. These classes are held three times a week, two classes for beginners and another for intermediate students. These classes are taught by Gabriel Herrera.

Private lessons are also available.

Piano/Keyboard

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take Piano/Keyboard classes. These classes are held twice a week, one class for beginners and another for intermediate students. These classes are taught by Damon Martinez.

Private lessons are also available.

Dance

Students enrolled as a NYA member, can take Dance classes. These classes are held twice a week. These classes are taught by Antonia Mata & Elsa Champion.
While the members learn Hip Hop, Elsa Champion teaches several dance classes at NYA that are not part of the regular membership of NYA. These additional classes include: Ballet Folklorico, Flamenco, Ballet, etc.

Private lessons are also available.

SONGWRITING

Songwriting classes with two-time Grammy Award Winner Rebecca Valadez are new to the NYA program. Classes will be available for Summer Camps  and Clinics.

DRUM LINE

Beginning January 2019, NYA will offer a Drum line program. This program is designed to expand on the other Drum programs, and allow the students to showcase their drum skills at upcoming festivals.
